مصوتے” are the short vowel sounds used in the Urdu language. They guide pronunciation and help in correctly reading and speaking words. There are three basic short vowels in Urdu:

• Zabar ( ـَ )

• Zer ( ـِ )

• Pesh ( ـُ )
