2D SHAPES

2D shapes are flat shapes that have length and width, but no thickness. We see 2D shapes all around us every day. Some common 2D shapes are circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.

Each shape has its own features. For example, a square has four equal sides, a triangle has three sides, and a circle is round with no corners. Learning about shapes helps us recognize and describe the world around us.

Understanding 2D shapes is an important part of early math and makes learning fun and creative!
